Got "ESPN the Magazine" in the mail over the weekend. Outfielder Josh Hamilton — who spent some time with the Cincinnati Reds (and Louisville Bats) before being shipped to the Texas Rangers — is on the cover. The thing that caught my eye, however, was the Louisville Slugger he's holding. That's because the last time I remember the magazine featuring Louisville sports on its cover was before U of L's football season kicked off the year following the Orange Bowl victory. Not sure what it says about our city's sports landscape when, in only a few years, we go from quarterback Brian Brohm and some of his wide receivers on the cover to, well, a baseball bat. Maybe Karen Sypher is up next.
