As the Cincinnati Kings come to Louisville this weekend to take on the Lightning, they boast the title of being the current PASL divisional leaders. Louisville hopes to send them packing with a loss as they try to build on their big win last weekend against Detroit.
Though the team may not be at full strength due to injuries, head coach Ted Nichols is optomistic about their chances ""Ryan McDonald is out with a strained back, and Lee Weyland is out with a strained calf. Ross Hopkins is out and we’ve got some guys likely out because of the USL Combine coming up. It’s definitely not the best time for all of this to happen, but we have to go out there and play. We’ve done it before, and we had some key players out against Detroit too, and we won that game. It’s not something we can control."
Though their record doesn't indicate many wins this season, the Lightning have had been close in each matchup. They've needed some lucky breaks to get them back to their standard of winning and they believe after last weekend's big road victory, they're on the start of something new and successful. To add fuel to their motivation moving forward and changing their fortune, Chad Hagerty was named the PASL Player of the Week this week after his 4 goals against Detroit.
Come on out and cheer on the Lightning this weekend as they take on the Cincinnati Kings. The game is at 8 pm at Mockingbird Valley Soccer Club, Mellwood Avenue.
