In the match to get even against their West Coast foes, the Louisville Lightning were unable to get the advantage against the San Diego Sockers this weekend at Mockingbird Valley Soccer Club.

With two players registering hat tricks against the Lightning, San Diego improved their record to an undefeated 6-0 on the season.

All was not lost for the Lightning, though.  Louisville scored first and came back to rally in the second half, eventually losing 10-7 in a highly competitive match. Ted Nichol's hometown team ultimately managed more shots on goal than the Sockers as they held the 30-27 statistical advantage.

Louisville now falls to 1-4 for the year and looks to improve their record over the remainder of the season to return to the PASL Championships.  Their schedule does not include another regular match-up against the Sockers, instead featuring regional matchups with the likes of Cincinnati, Kings, Ohio Vortex and Detroit Waza.

The Lightning's next match is on New Year's Day as they travel up I-71 to play against Cincinnati.
