It's been a rough start to the season for the Louisville Lightning. Although their record in the league stands at 1-5, they are confident that their W-L column isn't exactly representative of how the season has gone. They have been in each contest and have lost by a total of 14 goals combined. That's less than 3 goals a game, and in indoor soccer, that's not many.
However, their expectations for the season haven't changed. As head coach Ted Nichols explained "We’re playing well and we’re right there in every game. We are a few plays away from reversing our fortune and getting wins. At least three of our losses could have easily been wins for us. We just have to be confident, play our game, and the wins will come."
As in PASL league play, a road win is always a bragging point to have and the team hopes to get a big victory tomorrow night against a talented Detroit team. While the Lightning comes into the game slightly banged up with injuries to several players, they know a win in Detroit is in their grasp and could start a winning streak as their three following games are at home.
