    The Louisville Free Public Library is reaching out on social media, recently making a new profile on the ever popular Instagram. Just ahead of their widely popular series event, the How To Festival, the Louisville Free Public Library launched a new social media profile on Instagram. They’ve been posting great photos of different programs around the library system. You can find them by searching the username @LouisvilleFreePublicLibrary. Check out some of these:

    You can also follow LFPL on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The Library is branching out to reach more people throughout Louisville and Jefferson County, always earmarking that next way to stay within the touch of a button or the swipe of a touch screen with their users. This new social media twist is an excellent way for the Library to continue to reach their current followers and library lovers, as well as reach new potential library users in a user-friendly and entertaining format. They may need to be added to this Top 13 Louisville Instagram profiles!

    According to library staff, this new account “offers members of the community a new avenue for discovering information about events, programs, and Library news, as well as a fresh way to engage with day-to-day happenings at our 18 library locations.”

    The Library’s How To Festival is this Saturday, May 10 from 10am-3pm at the Main Library. It’s 50 Free Things, 5 Hours, 100% Free! Here is the entire day’s schedule of presentations. During the Festival, Library personnel are encouraging attendees to take their own photos and share them via Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #howtofestival. The photos taken by both library users and staff will be streaming live in the main lobby of the library throughout the day. The Main Library is located at 301 York Street.
