    Louisville, KY – The Louisville Bats will open their 2009 season at home on Thursday, April 9 versus the Columbus Clippers. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. and will include Budweiser’s “Game Time” Happy Hour from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on the Overlook Grill.

    Next season, Louisville has 11 Saturday home games, including Thunder over Louisville (April 18 vs.Indianapolis). The Bats also have home games on Mother’s Day (May 10 vs. Scranton/Wilkes-
    Barre), Memorial Day (May 25 vs. Pawtucket), Father’s Day (June 21 vs. Gwinnett County, formerly the Richmond Braves), Independence Day Eve (July 3 vs. Indianapolis) and Labor Day (September 7 vs. Indianapolis).

    The Bats will be celebrating their 10th season at Louisville Slugger Field in 2009 and special festivities are planned for the anniversary season. The 2009 season will also mark the 10th year as the Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.

    Louisville led the International League in attendance for the ninth straight season in 2008, averaging 9,152 fans for a total of 631,457. The team’s record-breaking season continues with the
    first round of the Governors’ Cup playoffs September 3 and 4 versus the South Division winner Durham Bulls. Seats are still available with both games beginning at 7:05 p.m.
