Derby season is finally here, Louisville! Time to get your hands on a Pegasus pin and spend your evenings at the Waterfront eating delicious food from the Chow Wagon, hang out at the free concerts, and of course, find great seats for America’s biggest annual fireworks show, Thunder Over Louisville.

If you still haven’t figured out where you’re going to spend your Saturday for this year’s Thunder Over Louisville event, just relax! You still have time! If flocking to the waterfront with thousands of spectators for the fireworks isn’t really your thing, but staying in to watch them as they’re televised isn’t appealing either, perhaps Louisville’s Slugger Field can meet your needs this year!

Slugger Field is hosting an all-day event this year for Thunder Over Louisville, starting with a baseball game. What better way to bring in Louisville’s favorite time of year other than America’s favorite pastime!

The Louisville Bats will take on the Indianapolis Indians at 2:05 on Saturday, which will be followed by a performance by 80’s cover band, Sixteen Candles. Those who purchase tickets to the game will have all-day access to Slugger Field, allowing attendees to leave and return to the stadium as they please.

Keep in mind that attendees will also have all-day access to clean bathrooms – no porta potties! And of course the traditional hotdog and beer vendors that always grace the patrons of Slugger Field with their classic treats.

So once you get your foot-long hotdog and a nice, cold beer, you can take a seat in one of the best locations in the city to watch the air show and of course, the big fireworks show. It doesn’t get much better than that, folks!

Tickets for this event are still available for $20-$40 each. If you’re interested in spending Thunder Over Louisville in one of Louisville’s most iconic venues, you can buy your tickets here
