Looking for Lilith Theatre Company (LFL) is used to bringing new, timely and issue-driven productions to Louisville. And their latest foray into drama appears to be no exception.
In conjunction with Women’s History Month, LFL brings the regional premiere of Luz by playwright Catherine Filloux to the stage.
“From the garbage dump in Guatemala to the tent cities in Haiti, LUZ explores the epic journeys of refugees Luz, Helene and Zia, as they seek asylum and hope, with the help of human rights lawyer Alexandra,” says LFL.
Looking for Lilith productions seem to promote conversation and awareness of the world at large, and Luz will do the same.
To facilitate those conversations, LFL has scheduled several talkbacks following the shows, including one with the playwright herself after the opening performance. Other discussions with expert panelists are scheduled as follows.
February 27 – Talk with playwright Catherine Filloux
March 1 – Hispanic-Latino Coalition Representatives*
March 6 – Immigration and Refugee Issues
March 7 – Environmental Issues
Luz opens this Thursday, February 27 and runs through March 8. Tickets are $18/$15,with discounts available on Community Night, March 3rd.
