Lately, if you mention the word "bridge" to someone in Kentuckiana you’re bound to hear some grumbling, but on Friday, Oct. 7th, the Louisville Downtown Development Corporation and Whiskey Row are breathing new life into the word by presenting the first Art Night Under the Bridge.

The plaza under the bridge, an area directly under the Second Street bridge at Second and Washington streets, will showcase over 30 emerging artists from Kentucky and surrounding states. Come hungry because the restaurants of Whiskey Row will be providing plenty of local food and beer. The Ladybirds and Lewis Mathis will be the musical entertainment for the evening.

This event is in conjunction with the First Friday Trolley Hop so admission is free and will run from 7 – 11 p.m. Contact Marjorie Dunn at 502-494-6565 for more information.

Some of the featured artists will be:

    Joe Autry - sculptor

    Andy Miller - illustrator

    Dustin Waltke - cartoonist, designer

    Clair Raabe - jewelry

Weird and Woolly Designs- fiber artist

Sterainstruments - instruments from re-purposed materials

Katy Kane - vintage and couture clothing

    About Julie Gross

I’m originally from Ohio, but have been a Louisvillian for half my life. I divide my time between hubby, 3 kids, too many pets, and the 930 Art Center. When I'm not, you'll find me running the trails in Cherokee or Jefferson Memorial Forest.
