On Monday, November 10, The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience will kick off its birthday festivities. It has been one year since this Louisville Landmark opened its doors, and the whole town is going to turn out to celebrate.
At 10:30 a.m. on November 10, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer will unveil an historical marker across the street from The Experience marking what is thought to be the original location of Evan Williams’ first commercial distillery in the late 1700s. The festivities will continue in the afternoon with bottle signings and a Neighborhood party in the gift shop.
Then Tuesday, November 11 at 4 p.m. at the Galt House’s Roof Top Terrace Room, The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience will be awarded with the 2014 Main Street Association’s Hats Off Award. The award is given to those who exemplify historic preservation, tourism, and revitalization of the Main Street corridor.
Also during this week will be $1 tours, free nosing glasses for patrons, and a 2005 vintage Evan Williams Single Barrel offering will only be available for purchase at The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience Gift Shop. On November 12, Artisanal Distiller Charlie Downs will be offering patrons the opportunity to sample new make right off the distilling line.
On Thursday November 13, Whiskey Professor Bernie Lubbers will lead tours of the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience Speakeasy. Friday and Saturday will feature more bottle signings as well as refreshments, including bourbon cupcakes.
