I love barbeque and have been quite impressed with Louisville's offerings. Here are a few of my favorite spots.

Doc Crows Southern Smokehouse and Raw Bar is located near the KFC Yum! Center on historic Whiskey Row. It's a great venue for a night out with your special someone as it offers a sophisticated atmosphere. Their offerings include an amazing crab cocktail that I've had, seasoned fried oysters, smokehouse mussels, wings, fried green tomatoes and barbeque tacos.  I also enjoyed the Beef Brisket that came with Texas Toast and coleslaw. I've heard the ribs are amazing as well as the Shrimp and Cheddar Grits. They also offer barbeque sandwiches, po' boys, and burgers.  It's definitely on my list of places I will return to.

Doc Crows is located at 127 West Main Street.

Against the Grain Brewery and Smokehouse is a microbrewery located in Louisville Slugger Field. The atmosphere is lively and their menu offers a variety of options including soups, sandwiches and BBQ. I ordered the brisket sandwich made with Angus beef and was very impressed. They make their own delicious coleslaw from scratch by smoking the cabbage before hand and using a vinaigrette base in place of mayo or yogurt.  My husband and I ordered a tasting of all of the 5 sauces for just $2 which we enjoyed dipping our warm house-made potato chips in.

Against the Grain is located at 401 East Main Street.

Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot and Smokehouse is located in Crescent Hill. You may have seen their huge smoker outside of the restaurant while driving down Frankfort Avenue. The place is casual and has the feel of a neighborhood joint. The menu offerings are typical of what you would expect ranging from ribs, pulled pork, brisket and burgers but the food is delicious and affordable. You can even buy meat by the pound which is great for parties or serving a family.  I've had a variety of items on the menu and never been disappointed.

Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot is located at 3204 Frankfort Avenue.
