In "Le Miz", Jean Valjean has been released from prison, where he was in the chain gang for two decades.  After initially returning to life a crime, he is shown an act of kindness by a bishop, who saves him from prison.

Years later, Jean, who was changed by the bishop's kindness, becomes mayor and a factory owner.  He crosses paths with Fantine, a worker who was fired, has an illegitimate child, and takes a degrading position.  He will be tested here, one of many times Jean will have his virtues tested against outside elements of culture and people.

Songs in Les Miserables include Do You Hear the People Sing?, One Day More, Stars, Master of the House, Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, and I Dreamed a Dream, a song recently brought back to prominence thanks to Susan Boyle's rendition.

Following Les Miserables, PNC Broadway Across America will present Shrek: The Musical.  That production will go on in June. More information on the shows can be found at the PNC Broadway Across America website.
