    Bit to Do

Every Saturday, the Douglass Loop Farmers Market is bustling with business. On Saturday, August 3, Mama’s Hip will be joining families and other market goers for a green family fair. From 10am-1pm, check out local resources in the community that support a green lifestyle and parenting choices. There will be many informational booths on hand to answer all of your questions.  There will also be children’s activities including face painting and photo booth opps. The market is a fantastic choice for the event, as a place to discover many locally sourced foods and products. During the market, there is also entertainment such as crafts, music, and a playground nearby.

On the same Saturday (August 3) at 12pm, Mama’s Hip proudly supports The Big Latch On. On this day, at this time, mamas and babies around the world latch on to support, raise awareness, and celebrate breastfeeding. To learn more about this international endeavor, check out their website at www.biglatchon.org. August 1-8 is World Breastfeeding Week, whose theme this year is ‘Breastfeeding Support: Close to Mothers.’ Help support mothers and breastfeeding by participating in The Big Latch On event; if you are not a nursing mama, just show up to support the cause or email shannonstone@mamas-hip.com to find a volunteer need you could help with that day.

See the Mama’s Hip Facebook event page for more details. These family events are also occurring in conjunction with Mama to Mama, the nonprofit organization run through Mama’s Hip that provides much needed support to mamas in need in the Louisville community.
