You've sampled the fabulous French food with a Southern twist at La Coop Bistro, right? Many Louisville diners have, including the Courier Journal's critic, who gave the place 4 stars, and chances are good that you have, too. But, what happens when a French/Southern restaurant veers over to Italy for a special meal? Well, I don't know yet, but I predict magical awesomeness takes place, and I certainly want to find out.
On March 25th, Chef Bobby Benjamin and his culinary team are going to prepare a 3-course Italian dinner, titled "Lunedi Cena Osteria". Sounds like a recipe for super magical awesomeness to me.
The Menu:
Primo (App/1st)
Carni Bovine e Ravioli al Formaggio
Beef Cheek Ravioli with peas and lemon
2011 Secco, “Italian Bubbles” Rosé, Veneto
Secondo (Main)
Branzino alla Griglia con Sale Arrosto
Salt-Roasted Branzino with spinach and tomato
Bortolotti “Treviso” Prosecco, Extra Dry, Veneto
Dolce (Dessert)
Affogato al Caffe
Pistachio and Mascarpone Gelato with espresso
2011 Malvira “Birbet” Brachetto, Piedmont
The dinner will be prix fixe at $35 per person plus tax and gratuities, and sparkling wine pairings will be available for an additional $30 per person.
Reservations are required, and you can make them by calling (502) 410-2888. Seating is available from 5:30 to 10:30.
