Let us just pretend for a minute that you have nothing to do tomorrow. Maybe you take a mental health day, maybe you have rock-star hours, perhaps your schedule just cleared, or maybe you don't work outside the home, mom, but whatever your story is, there is something cool happening tomorrow.
Head to the Roots and Shoots International Day of Peace at the Swing Garden on the Waterfront from 4:00-8:00 pm. Roots and Shoots is the Jane Goodall Institute's global, environmental and humanitarian program for young people that inspires them to make changes in the world, respect diversity and all forms of life, and respect the environment. Perhaps you need something to break-up the mid-week monotony. Go ahead, surprise the kids after school and head down to the Waterfront for a celebration of positivity.
The event will include a peace dove parade (around 5:30) made of crafted Giant Peace Dove Puppets made of reusable material that have traveled the world from Rome to Mount Fuji, a peace wall, kids craft areas, music, presentations from local peace-makers, and vendors selling local food and sustainable products. Discuss social justice, advocacy, animal welfare, conservation and peace with Leo Weekly, Bernheim, The Local Guys, Ashbourne Farms and more.
Not bad for a Wednesday.
