The 38th Humana Festival is in full swing and continues this week with the opening of Steel Hammer, directed by Anne Bogart.

The production, which runs through April 6, was created by the SITI Company, which was founded in 1992 by Bogart and Tadashi Suzuki and emphasizes international collaboration.

Steel Hammer explores the legend of John Henry, a steel driver working to construct the American railroads, through the work of four playwrights. It includes music from Bang on a Can’s Julia Wolfe.

Anne Bogart is an award-winning director, author and professor at Columbia University.

Tickets for the production, which runs in previews Wednesday and Thursday, March 19-20 and opens Friday, March 21 may be purchased online or by calling the Actors Theatre box office at 502-584-1205.
