The Mercury Ballroom was packed Saturday night to hear the funk of Nashville's Here Come the Mummies, a group of professionals wrapped up to maintain anonymity to avoid breaking any professional contractual obligations to other bands or labels.
I'm not the only one that believes they put on a fantastic show thoroughly entertaining all who ventured out to see them. When I mentioned to a woman standing in the front of the crowd that the Mummies usually enter their shows from outside, through the crowd and up to the stage, she told me that she had seen the group 182 times. I'm not sure if she was serious about the exact number, but her stare suggested she was. Needless to say, they have a dedicated fan base.
