    So as thousands of you know by now, I moved back from NYC about a year ago and started dropping knowledge here in late March of this year.  My ‘audition’, if you will, just happened to be about one of my personal favorites, Heartless Bastards.  It read as follows;

    Having had the fortune of first seeing Cincinnati's Heartless Bastards when they toured smaller venues with The Black Keys circa '07’, to say that I was excited for this show wouldn't be doing my emotions justice.  From the beginning they came out in force, on the eve of the release of their latest LP Arrow, with

    Erika Wennerstrom's grinding guitar and sultry vocals providing constant catalysts for hair raising sound.

    As expected, this instance exceeded all expectations.  Dropping some of their earlier work like 'Hold Your Head High' and 'Early in The Morning' was an added bonus, while the set list was packed with tracks from

    Arrow.  'Got to Have Rock and Roll' and 'Since We Parted Ways' delivered soulful goodness and provided further insight into Wennerstrom's recent romantic departure. Those harvested emotions provided the perfect ingredients to make this show full of loving goodness that only Heartless Bastards are capable of.  Looking forward to big things coming from them in the future and can't wait until the next time.

    Obviously in awe of such ‘talent’ I, well WFPK truly of course, now have the fortune of giving you the said ‘next time’, and that’s tomorrow night at Headliners!  While Erika has yet to return any of my calls, emails, Facebook requests or tweets, I have yet to receive a restraining order so I do hope to see you all there.  In truth, I confidently anticipate that Arrow will be played in bulk and having had almost a year on the road to fine tune their live performance of the album, not that they were remotely needed it, you are all in for a real treat should you turn up.  Expect more of the above and lots of that unique auditory loving goodness.
