Hayswood Theatre is holding auditions for The Crucible by Arthur Miller on Sunday, July 17 @ 6:00pm and Monday, July 18 @ 7:00pm.
The story focuses on a young farmer, his wife, and their young servant girl who maliciously causes the wife's arrest for witchcraft. The farmer brings the girl to court to admit the lie, and it's here that the momentuous course of bigotry and deceit is depicted in a terrifying manner. The famer finds himself also accused of witchcraft and ultimately condemned with a host of others instead of being able to save his wife. This exciting drama about the Puritan purge of witchcraft in old Salem is both a gripping historical play and a parable of our contemporary society. It shows how easily judgment comes from a place of anger and can be compounded with deceit to be detrimental to everyone involved.
