STOMP is coming to the Kentucky Center for the Arts October 15 - 17, 2010.  You might know them as the group that likes to make a lot of noise, but their performances are highly choreographed, weaving percussion and dance into a night of entertainment for all ages.

According to their website, STOMP was created in 1991 in the UK by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas with a preview at London's Bloomsbury Theatre. STOMP explores the rhythms and sounds we usually try to block out. They find the patterns in every day sounds from brooms, lighters, busy kitchens and other sounds to create a theatrical experience that they call an exploration.

They've made appearances all over the world, on television, at schools, charities, and  have an educational lesson plan available on their website for teachers to be able to utilize. They've won an Oliver Award for "Best Choreography" and received four EMMY award nominations for their tevision special titled Stomp Out Loud. Amongst other honors and acheivements, Entertainment Weekly named STOMP in their list of "New Classics: The best plays and musicals from 1983-2008".

Tickets can be purchased through the Kentucky Center for the Arts box office.
