    Bit to Do

Clarksville Little Theatre moves north this weekend, as they open the Maine-based drama, On Golden Pond.

Norman and Ethel Thayer have been married for years, and are now in the twilight of their lives. Retired, they spend their summers at their cottage on Golden Pond in Maine.

Over the course of the summer, it becomes evident that Norman is struggling with a surprising memory loss. While the Thayers prepare for Norman’s 80th birthday, their adult daughter, Chelsea, drops by with her boyfriend, along with an unexpected commitment for the Thayers…one that turns into something that Chelsea has longed for most of her life.

As the summer comes to an end, Norman and Ethel find that life’s growing pains don’t end when you’re young.

On Golden Pond runs January 13-15 and 19-21 at the Clarksville Little Theatre. Evening performances are at 8pm; the Jan. 15th show is at 2pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. Call 812-283-6522 to reserve tickets.

    About Michelle Rynbrandt

Before landing in the Possibility City, Michelle toured the country performing in various regional theatres. Having been there and done that, she can honestly say that Louisville's cultural opportunities are second to none.
