Hats on the Avenue to return to Varanese this Wednesday
    Print this page

If you are planning to go to Varanese this Wednesday evening after your workday is over, you may find yourself witnessing an impromptu fashion show right at your table as you are enjoying a glass of Mumm Napa Blanc de Noir with your V-12-powered V Burger. Then, imagine this very thing happening again at the same time every Wednesday through Derby. “What madness has befallen Varanese,” you ask in total astonishment. “Is this a delayed April Fool’s Day joke mixed in with Groundhog Day?”

No. Louisville.com doesn’t do April Fool’s Day jokes or Bill Murray parodies.

You need not be afraid, my dears, for what you will witness at the New American Cuisine restaurant on 2106 Frankfort Ave. is the start of the fifth annual Hats on the Avenue fashion show. Every Wednesday beginning at 6:30 p.m., guests will enjoy a tableside runway experience, where models will present one-of-a-kind, custom-made spring and Derby hats alongside various ensembles and accessories. The creations come from The Secret Boutique, who are now next-door neighbors since the boutique’s grand opening of their new location at 2033 Frankfort Ave. Friday evening.

Along with the fashions, guests will also be able to enjoy half-price bottles of wine – such as the aforementioned Mumm Napa Blanc de Noir – and live jazz music on the four seasons patio.

The first show of the year begins at 6:30 p.m. this Wednesday, and will continue every Wednesday at the same time through Derby. Reservations are encouraged, and can be made by either calling 502-899-9904 or via email at letsdine@varanese.com. You may also call the restaurant for more information, as well as visit their website at www.varanese.com. Finally, you can also follow Varanese and The Secret Boutique on their respective Facebook pages. The restaurant opens at 5 p.m.
