The lineup at the Mercury Ballroom last night began with the Dead Deads, a hard rock, grunge group of five girls with killer vocals. New Medicine took the stage afterwards, and they had a hard rock beat that kept the audience interested. Mercury Ballroom was full to the brim of attendees that had their devil horns in the air, but New Medicine took a photo and asked the audience to hold their middle fingers in the air instead.

These two acts were one heck of an opener for Halestorm. Lzzy, Josh, Joe, and Arejay took the stage around 10:30 p.m., and they proceeded with a performance that literally shook the venue.

Halestorm sang many songs off of their current album, The Strange Case Of..., such as Love Bites (So Do I)Mz. Hyde, and Freak Like Me, but they also played a few hits from their self-titled album that was released back in 2009, including It's Not You and Familiar Taste of Poison. Lzzy blew the roof off of Mercury Ballroom with her intense vocals. I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that such a voice comes from a human.

Josh had awesome bass riffs, and Joe had excellent guitar solos, but I think the thing that grabbed everyone's attention the most was Arejay's drum solo that took place about halfway during the show. He was on stage by himself, and the bass reverberated throughout the entire room. He even invited Dylan Wood, drummer for New Medicine, out to the stage to perform part of the solo with him. It was unbelievable, but then Arejay pulled out what appeared to be giant drumsticks, and he continued his solo. I have truly never seen anything like it before.

Lzzy sported her white guitar strap with silver lettering that said, "Lzzy FN Hale." She thanked the audience for standing in line in the freezing cold before the doors opened. She said, "I don't know if I would do that for my favorite band." I think a lot of the fans that attended the show last night were definitely dedicated to the group, considering that the show was sold out. Lzzy even said that she was trying to get back in tour mode because Halestorm just finished their third album, but I really think she performed effortlessly. She took the stage alone and sang Hate It When You See Me Cry, which is on the deluxe edition of The Strange Case of... Perhaps my favorite moment of the night was right before the band sang Daughters of Darkness because Lzzy dedicated the song to the ladies in the house who like their whiskey. She obviously knew that she was talking to the right crowd in the right city.

The first song I ever heard from Halestorm was I Miss The MiseryLast night was my first time seeing the band in concert. All I can say is that I am hooked for life after that performance.
