You can deny it all you want to, I don’t particularly care. You can pretend you’re above the fray, and don’t subject yourself to the cheese…but we all know it isn’t true – you can stop all the posturing, and openly embrace with open arms your unbridled love for Yacht Rock. It’s somewhere deep down inside all of us.
Those of us enlightened types accepted that part of ourselves years ago – it’s that little Yacht Rock loving corner of your heart that The Yacht Rock Revue is aiming to appeal to tomorrow night. Because we all have the fantasy of ugly floral Hawaiian shirts and an enormous tropical sky over crystal clear, emerald blue ocean waters, while we float on an oversized boat with a drink in our hand, and just the right soundtrack.
Yacht Rock Revue is a national touring band filled with highly talented and very professional musicians who fill their setlists with tributes to some of Yacht Rock’s finest performers like Hall & Oats, Steely Dan, Michael McDonald.
The band has performed on shows and artists cruises with high profile acts like Weezer, Kid Rock, Zac Brown Band, Train, and Sister Hazel. They have been covered by reputable music publications like Pitchfork, New York Times, and Mtv.com – garnering such praise as: “Best Place to Get Drunk with Your Dad” or “Best Place to Start a Marital Affair.”
The musicians when they’re not playing with Yach Rock Revue are proficient players gigging around the world with some of the biggest artists in the industry, like Billy Joel, John Mayer, Noel Gallagher, Don Henley, Devo, Nine Inch Nails, Bon Jovi, and Saturday Night Live Band.
Yacht Rock Revue will be performing June 12th at Mercury Ballroom. The show starts at 9:30 PM and tickets are available for $12.
