During the November Flea Market, three icons in the world of professional wrestling made their way to the monthly Flea Market, an event which is run by the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center as well as Stewart Promotions.

In November the trio consisted of “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, The Honky Tonk Man, and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine; all three of which had an amalgam of success and name recognition in the wrestling community throughout the 80’s and 90’s.

Finding success with those three the Market, welcomed another duo of wrestlers to their New Years’ Spectacular this month. Making his return was Duggan who had beside him this time Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake.

Beefcake squares off against another legend, Mr. Perfect

Both are probably best known for their time in the WWE- Duggan notably won the first ever Royal Rumble event (which has become a staple for the company ever since), and Beefcake was often a teammate of his real life good friend, Hulk Hogan. The two are such good friends that Beefcake actually had autographed pictures of Hogan with him.

The Barber and Hacksaw welcomed shoppers and vendors alike all day Saturday and Sunday, along with standard Flea Market fair.

The Market will continue up until Tuesday, and still stands as a beacon for home town commerce, Today and Tomorrow the market will welcome Jodie Parks, notable for her work on the TV show The Paranormal Hot Squad

    About Dave Rose

Recently, I completed a Masters degree in Education and have been writing for Louisville.com for over a year now, prior to that I published a humor book for young adults titled Wearing Socks with Sandals, a book about getting through high school, college, and all of the requisite problems that present themselves during that time. Currently, I spend much of my time in classroom settings as well as writing in various areas. Of course, I’m a big sports fan and love music and film, and love finding new stuff around Louisville.
