    Bit to Do

It looked like one heck of a party was going on. When a crowd gathers on the sidewalk like that, it is usually patrons of the Hideaway Saloon, but these weren't partiers; they were attendees of the Gender Bender Art Show, curated and promoted by spoken word artist Lex Lawson at Solidarity, a small shop/gallery just a couple doors down from the Hideaway Saloon.

Lex Lawson put the Gender Bender show together. The art will be on display through the end of July during store weekend hours.

Solidarity is a small shop/art gallery that is owned/operated by a family. Karl and Samantha Otto run the business along with Samantha's brother and sister in law Louis Bowman and Blaire Schoppa, and mom Lisa Oeschli. Karl's private tattoo studio (appointment only) is in an upper level of the building. (Appointments can be made by calling 502-472-7003). There is a room behind the main store where their kids are allowed to play.

The show had a large crowd from the opening at 8 p.m.

Christian Rabbit entertained the crowd with their music.

Jada Parks had an intriquing piece using one model, Bethan Kannapell.

The crowd increased as the night went on and was steady until after the closing of the show at 11 p.m.
