So this might be the first sign of things heating up the crazy for Derby week…

Tomorrow, April 29th, at Jim Porter’s Good Time Emporium, they will be throwing the Funtown Mountain Big Funraiser.

The event will be a grab bag of weirdness featuring burlesque, variety, magic & music.  It will feature The Dancing Outlaw himself, Jesco White, The Perkins Brothers (Elvis & Meatloaf impersonators), hip-hop artist Kentucky Prophet, band The Rock-afire Explosion, burlesque troupe Go-Go Amy, the “live chicken” magic of Christopher Wonder, and, of course, DJ Shit Show.

Apparently there will be even more acts added to the evening’s line-up.

The “Funraiser” is, in fact, a fundraiser for Funtown Mountain in Cave City, KY – which is a theme park planned to open June 19th and celebrates Southern Art & Culture.

Funtown Mountain Big Funraiser begins at 8:00 PM, on Wednesday April 29th at Jim Porters Good Time Emporium.  Tickets are available for $25.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
