Have you ever wanted to try Louisville’s Food Truck scene, but you weren’t sure where to find them? Like everything else today, there’s an app for that! It’s called Where The Trucks At. But there are also certain places around town where you can be sure to find them. Tuesdays, they are at City Hall downtown. Also, there are always lots of food trucks at the once-monthly Flea Off Market.
I’ve been going to the Flea Off since their Holiday Bazaar in December. The atmosphere is always festive, whether it’s the Holidays or not. Vinyl spins, street musicians play, and my kids get to pet every dog in the city of Louisville.
But I go for the food trucks. There’s always a mouth watering variety of vendors, including Black Beard’s Espresso, The Grind, Lil Cheezers, and 502 Café. They also have a bar that makes beautiful cocktails, though it’s usually early enough in the day that I stick with coffee.
This time around, my favorite 502 Café was absent from the lineup, so I had to change up my routine a bit. I was excited to see Longshot Lobsta and Holy Mole, so we gave them a try. The thing that is great about lunch at the Flea Off Market is that there’s something for everyone in the family. The five of us ate from three different trucks, and there was still plenty of options to choose from. I think I counted at least 8 vendors!
After lunch we strolled around leisurely and checked out the wares for sale. You can find tons of vinyl, collectibles, art pieces, crafts, and food at The Flea Off. Think of it as a combination of a flea market, a farmer’s market, and an art show, but complete with alcohol and doggies.
The Flea off Market only happens once a month, but my family tries to make it every month. We have favorite vendors and artists, but it’s almost a complete new show every month. Follow them on Facebook for updates.
