It was a warm Friday night with clear skies, and it felt like summer was finally here. It was a perfect night to be out and about, and what better way to spend it than going on the Furry F.A.T. (Frankfort Ave. Trolley) Hop and exploring Frankfort Ave. Moreover, this particular hop was pet-friendly and had many stops that accepted donations for the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS).
Throughout the night, every trolley was packed full with people, some riding to their parked cars, some just starting the hop, and some just enjoying the trolley rides. Everyone was in an amiable mood, laughing, joking, and enjoying their time together. There were many families as well as people of all ages who came out.
There were multiple stops on the trolley’s route, and one appeared extra popular. This was the Comfy Cow stop, and it was so busy that the line ran out the front door. They were taking donations for KHS and also offered a special buy one, get one free pooch pop offer for your furry friend. They provided water for the dogs outside, and many people sat on the front steps enjoying their ice cream while their dogs relaxed with them.
Many of the stops were collecting various donations for KHS and were also offering water and treats for dogs enjoying the trolley hop with their owners. Another astoundingly popular location of the night was The Wine Rack. They had a Yappie Hour Wine Tasting event where attendees could sample Chateau La Paws, a wine brand that donates a portion of their profit to no kill animal shelters. The owner, John Johnson, stated that 280-300 people came to the event, and though the sampling was free, many people were “throwing money in for donations” to KHS. Johnson explained that they have participated in many F.A.T. Friday Hops and were happy with success of this night’s turnout.
The Furry Friday Trolley Hop was received with tremendous participation with many taking advantage of the pet-friendly environment of this particular night. The next F.A.T. Friday Hop is June 26 and who knows what will be in store for that night!
