The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is six months off, but the Ancient Order of Hibernians isn’t sitting idle this month. This coming Friday, September 10, the Irish heritage group will host the “Irish for Kids” golf scramble to benefit the Home of the Innocents.
In a golf scramble, each player will tee off, then, after choosing the best shot, continue until the hole is complete. Not feeling the luck of the Irish? Mulligans—do-overs—are available, two for $10. After the scramble, prizes will be awarded at Molly Malone’s (933 Baxter Ave.) for first, second and third place golfers, with “Closest to the Pin” prizes for all par 3 holes. There will also be a raffle of donated prizes.
The entry fee is $60 per player or $240 per team. The scramble begins at 1:30 sharp at Seneca Golf Course, 2300 Pee Wee Reese Rd. in the Highlands. For more information or to register, call For Rob Fallahay at 262-8192.
