From tapas to wine glasses, from genuine Spanish flare to a mouthwatering Italian aroma, De la Torres restaurant owners are selling their loved restaurant to new owners, Chad and Lauren Coulter.
After 25 years in business, De la Torres owners, Maggie and husband Miguel, are thrilled to hand the keys to someone else. Maggie said, “It’s really a bittersweet feeling, but it’s time for it to end. Miguel and I said to each other that we’re not going to get out of this just because of our, well, A.G.E. But let’s be honest, you don’t want to stay at the dance too long,” to Insider Louisville.
The Bardstown Road Louisville staple is a Best of Louisville winner boasting dishes, such as roasted lamb Castillian style and five different takes on paella, which is the national dish of Spain.
After serving up a Louisville foodie socialite’s heaven for so long, the De la Torres are turning a page and turning over the restaurant. When the Coulters take ownership of the current De la Torres restaurant in April, the once European, Spanish décor creating a scene straight from Barcelona will be transformed into a wine connoisseurs’ Louisville mecca.
Chad Coulter said, “Louvino will combine two things we know Louisville people love: to eat good food and drink wine,” to Insider Louisville. The Coulters also own Uptown Art on Bardstown Road and downtown New Albany.
Entering into Louisville’s booming restaurant scene comes at an exciting time for the Coulters, and the De la Torres are ecstatic to pass the reins of the building to someone who loves good food and knows great wine.
