Tacos and sushi are debatably the most delicious foods in the world. And no restaurant knows this better than Louisville's Dragon King's Daughter. Located in the heart of the Highlands, with a location offering a different yet similar menu in New Albany, Dragon King’s Daughter is perhaps the only restaurant in Louisville that specializes in both tacos and sushi. And whether you’ve already sampled every uniquely delicious taco and sushi roll on the menu, or you’ve never visited this one of a kind joint, we have everything you’ll need to know when planning your next (or first) visit.

    What to Wear:

This restaurant’s casual dining area features unique artwork and simple decorations, the perfect place to dine with family or on a date. Casual dress is widely accepted.

    Where to Park:

Plenty of street parking surrounds Dragon King’s Daughter’s Louisville location, along with a small parking area in the alley behind the building. The New Albany location offers onsite parking for its guests.

    What to Order:

Along with a thirst-quenching beer from the restaurant's eclectic beverage list, Louisville’s diners will love the Don’t Hurt ‘Em sushi roll. A combination of tuna tataki, wasabi aioli and garlic chips outside with plenty of avocado tempura inside, this unique sushi roll is unlike any you’ve ever tasted before. Prepare your tastebuds with an appetizing order of Wasabi Salsa to start with. This extra spicy appetizer is served with fried wonton chips.

Louisville’s vegetarian diners will go crazy for the grilled tofu tacos. Plenty of shiitake mushrooms and snow peas drenched in teriyaki sauce accompany thick chunks of tofu on this taco. We recommend starting with an order of Fried Veggie Gyoza as an appetizer, these veggie pot-stickers are sure to win over your heart.

Though Dragon King’s Daughter’s New Albany location offers similar menu items, it does not include a taco list. However, along with its delicious sushi, it also offers a unique selection of tapas not offered at the Louisville location. We recommend trying the mouth-watering Chile Relleno. Tofu stuffed jalapenos, stewed shiitake mushrooms, cheese and pineapple teriyaki sauce are combined in this tempura fried tapa.

    How Much:

When dining during regular hours, all appetizers are priced under $9, tacos are priced between $7 - $13, sushi rolls are between $6 - $14, and tapas are priced between $4 - $10. However, many menu prices are reduced, along with prices of several specialty beverages during the daily Happy Hour for those dining in from 3pm – 6pm at both locations. The Louisville location also offers an additional late-night happy hour from 9pm – 11pm Monday through Wednesday, and 10pm – midnight Thursday through Saturday.

    Wait Time:

When dining in Louisville during a late night happy hour on the weekend, you may wait up to 20 minutes for a table. Other dining times at either location do not usually require a wait time.
