World's worst boss could become a murder victim in Murder at the Five and Dime, which Whodunnit Murder Mystery Theater will present beginning Saturday.
Murder at the Five and Dime will take place on Saturdays at 7 p.m. from May 11 until June 22. All performances will take place at the Hyatt Regency downtown, located at 320 West Jefferson Street.
Tickets for each show are $45.50 per person and includes the show plus dinner, tax, and gratuity. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling Whodunnit at 502-426-7100. Keep in mind the May 11 show has already sold out. Dinner choices include chicken parmesan, roast pork loin, or potato torta.
Murder at the Five and Dime focuses on the 15th anniversary party for the store. The festivities are not without some reservation from the store employees as they all have to face the world's worst boss, Larry Thomason. Larry, however, will turn from the world's worst boss to a murder victim if the audience can't figure out who the murderer could be.
Audience members can figure out who's plotting the murder by listening for clues from the show. Also, audience members can ask questions of the suspects, who will be roaming the room in between scenes. The suspects, in turn, must tell the truth or evade the question. Keep this in mind, audience members: if suspects are asked if they are the murder suspect, all will answer no.
Craig Nolan Highley directed the Teresa Wentzel-created show for Whodunnit. The cast members include Erica Goldsmith, A.J. Green, Jeremy Gutierrez, Barbara O'Daniel-Munger, Rick O'Daniel-Munger, Makayla Staudenheimer, and Robert Thompson.
Murder at the Five and Dime is not only the last show of Whodnnit's 2012-13 season, it is also the company's final show at the Hyatt. Beginning with the 2013-14 season, Whodunnit Murder Mystery Theater will move to the Ramada Plaza Hotel at Bluegrass Parkway. Season auditions, meanwhile, will take place at the Ramada in July.
