Friday evening, six of the nine new shops that make up the South Fourth District held their first-ever First Friday SoFo Hop. Though not yet officially a part of the larger First Friday Trolley Hop in Downtown Louisville – thus, no trolley on this outing – the SoFo hop did draw attention from the visitors and locals making their way through Fourth Street Live.
One of the bigger draws occurred outside the storefront of Block Party Handmade Boutique, where guests could hammer nails into a board while following an outline of Kentucky, Indiana, a star or a heart, then run string around each nail to create a geometric piece of string art. This crafting class was just one of the many free things everyone visiting the area could experience, with giveaways being held at Les Filles Louisville and Celebrations, libations, discounts, live music and more.
The next SoFo Hop will occur on the first Friday of July; the possibility of a trolley remains in the background as of this writing. For more information this and other upcoming events in SoFo, you may visit the SoFo Louisville Facebook page.
