I'm. Not. Joking.  About 40 minutes into the set I was taking in the wondrous sounds of David Gray with an old friend, when we heard that unmistakable sound of a fist hitting a face.  Louisville this is unreal at a shocking and ugly level.  I'm not going to harp on the negative with so much awesomeness on the evening, but that's just unreal.

Love to say 'I told you so', but the night was amazing.  'Babylon' and 'Sail Away', among other classics, were delivered as promised but mostly the night was choc full of  goodness.  David is really an amazing performer and his supporting band is just as spectacular.  The auditory treats he bestowed upon the crowd was sensational, and while it didn't sell out (shame on you all) the crowd was certainly fully engaged in praise the entire set.  He lifted us up, chilled us out, made some people cry, and I'm pretty sure some of those ballads melted some hearts.  That hug I was looking for was bromantically delightful and positive everyone felt the same embrace of loving.  To the festive young lady behind me, we are all thrilled about your ever enthusiastic devotion in the form of many 'I LOVE YOUUUU DAYVIIIIDD!!!'

Overall, a really grand evening and kudos to Live Nation, The Palace, and especially Mr. Gray for all the hospitality.  If you get another chance on this tour, I highly recommend catching this show.
