Family day at Tower View Farm

September has come to an end, surprisingly. Fall tried to bestow her crisp beginnings on us, and now October is waiting just around the corner. And if you have yet to spruce up your home to welcome the beloved harvest time, then check out Tower View Farm on Taylorsville Road this Saturday, September 29.

Tower View Farm is a roadside market full of small farm quaintness. My family and I frequent it every autumn for those cherished gourds, mums, pumpkins, hay bales, and unique butters you can only find this time of year. This Saturday, September 29, they are hosting a family day full of fun.

Last year we took the short but perfect hayride out to the pumpkin patch. We grabbed a wagon sitting around the property and filled it with pumpkins and flowers. We went inside to the tiny family run market and bought some homemade jam. And we left with our car full of goodies and that feeling of pride when you support those local farmers just trying to make a living.

On Saturday, September 29 you can drive out to Tower View Farm and enjoy all these free activities, plus listen to some live music by Meadow Ryann. The farm opens at 8am, with music starting at 1:30pm. They are located at 12523 Taylorsville Road in Jeffersontown near the Gene Synder exchange. Call 267-2066 for more information.
