Eastern's Kameron Woods is one of the top prospects in the state. The 6-foot-9 center is improving his game and colleges are starting to take notice. I caught up with Woods this weekend at the HoopsFest.

Woods had a good junior season for the Eagles. His best game came against Fern Creek when he had a triple-double. In that game he scored 15 points, pulled down 12 rebounds and blocked 10 shots.

"I like to think of myself as an all-round player," Woods said. "I can dribble, shoot and handle the ball. I'm working on getting stronger, so I can play at the next level."

Woods has improved his game tremendously since last summer. He has gone from a virtual unknown, to a Division I prospect.

"I have two offers right now, from Eastern Kentucky and Wright State," Woods said. "I have heard from Tennessee Chattanooga, Clemson and Furman."

Woods hopes to take some visits in the near future.

"I'm hoping I can get up to Wright State and at some point I want to get down to Clemson," Woods said. "Right now I'm just working hard and trying to get some more looks."

Woods started several games last season for the Eagles. He shared time at center with football standout Jon Davis.

"I think I did alright last season," Woods said. "I think I could have done better. I think a lot of it had to do with my confidence. I feel like my confidence has risen, so I will be able to contribute more next season."

Woods is expected to be a full time starter as a senior. Along with Woods, the Eagles feature Division I prospects Remy Abell, Arman Marks and Lyonell Gaines.

"We want to take state this year," Woods said. "Last year we went into the season with big heads, like we had already done something. We are going to work harder this year and try and take it all."
