We all need coffee. And we know the Highlands hosts a pretty respectable list of coffee shops. So plan to spend your Saturday mornings in the neighborhood, and share a cup of caffeine in the company of District 8 Councilman Tom Owen.
“Talk with Tom” is a series of monthly meetings in which the councilman will be available for questions, or to listen to cares and concerns from area residents. The first of the series will be Saturday, September 29, at Highland Coffee Company (1140 Bardstown Road) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. On October 27, the event will be hosted at Starbucks (972 Baxter Avenue) and on November 24 at Quills Coffee (930 Baxter Avenue.)
The coffee meetings follow a summer bike tour, in which Councilman Owen spent Saturday mornings between July 2 and September 3 pedaling through 13 neighborhood areas to make himself more available to residents.
