Jimmy Russell has been in the bourbon business longer than any other Master Distiller in the industry. This year marked his 60th anniversary at Wild Turkey, which is over ten times longer than the average person stays at a job these days. Russell is still very active in the industry, not only overseeing operations at Wild Turkey, but also traveling as an ambassador of the bourbon world.
Thursday, January 15, 2015, Russell will be at Varanese on Frankfort Avenue for a Russell’s Reserve Bourbon Dinner. Tickets are $55 per person plus tax and gratuity. Details from the event page:
“Do not miss your opportunity to participate in one of the most unique bourbon experiences available. Join us on January 15 for our first bourbon dinner of 2015, featuring the outstanding bourbons of Russell's Reserve.
Hand-selected by Master Distiller Jimmy Russell, the Russell's Reserve 6 year, 10 Year, and Small Batch Single Barrel are prime examples of fine Kentucky bourbon.
Also featured will be the Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary bourbon, in honor of Russell's 60 years of excellence in distillery.
Our special guest for the evening will be Jimmy Russell, the mastermind behind Russell's Reserve Bourbon and a legend in the bourbon community.”
