Dad's a ghost, and Mom is dating someone else.  The perfect premise for a comedy, Life After Dad, which opens tonight at Derby Dinner.

Tickets for each performance and dinner depend on the day.  Friday evening tickets are $40 per person, Saturday evening tickets are $43, other evening tickets are $39, Sunday matinee shows are $34, and Wednesday matinee shows are $34 per person.  Tickets can be purchased at the Derby Dinner box office, online at the Derby Dinner website, or by calling 812-288-8281.

The comedy Life After Dad features a father who musters the courage to tell his wife of 41 years that he loves her...and then dies before he can actually say it.  Dad returns to earth as a ghost but sees that his wife is on the dating prowl.

The cast features J.R. Stuart as Dad, Rita Thomas as Mom, Bill Hanna as Carl, Cary Wiger as Michael, Tina Jo Wallace as Stacy, Janet Essenpreis as Jill, and David Myers as Jerry.  Bekki Jo Schneider directed the Phil Olson-created production.

Among the entrees being served in the buffet include carved roast pork, carved turkey breast, derby fried chicken, derby fried fish, and tuna tango casserole.  A salad bar and vegetable options are also available.

Following Life After Dad's run, Derby Dinner Playhouse will present The Sound of Music, which will run from June 28-August 7.
