A mystery writer resorts to creating his own stories via murder in the mystery-comedy Deathtrap, opening tomorrow at Derby Dinner Playhouse.
Derby Dinner Playhouse will present Deathtrap each day except Mondays from Oct. 1-Nov. 10. Evening shows will start at 7:45 with buffet beginning at 6 p.m. Matinee shows will start at 1 p.m. (Wednesday) or 1:30 p.m. (Sunday) with buffet beginning at 11:45 a.m. All performances are to happen at Derby Dinner Playhouse, located at 525 Marriott Drive in Clarksville, IN.
Tickets for each show depend on the day. Friday evening shows are $41, Saturday evening shows are $44, Sunday matinees are $36, Wednesday matinees are $35, and all other shows are $40 per person. All tickets, which include a buffet, can be purchased at the Derby Dinner Playhouse box office, the Derby Dinner website, or by calling the box office at 812-288-2636.
Deathtrap is an Ira Levin murder mystery focusing on a mystery writer who has hit a bit of a slump. That's when a student of his comes forward with a script of his own that could be a major hit. The mystery writer, Sydney, then announces his intentions to kill his student, Clifford, in order to take the manuscript as his own.
Bekki Jo Schneider directed the production, which features David Myers as Sydney, Brian Bowman as Clifford, Tina Jo Wallace as Myra, Elizabeth Loos as Helga Ten Dorp, and J.R. Stuart as Porter Milgrim.
During Deathtrap's run, Derby Dinner's children's theatre will present its season opening show, Miss Nelson Has a Field Day. That production will open this Saturday.
