Louisvillians looking to escape the every day will have their chance on January 21 when the Dayglow tour comes to town. Dayglow: The World’s Largest Paint Party invites fun seekers to another reality weaved of paint and light.
"It's a one-of-a-kind experience," says promoter and event director Zach Samson. "They always sell out."
Dayglow was founded by Committee Entertainment and began as a college tradition on Florida campuses in 2006. Since then, it has
grown to an international sensation, with shows all over the world, including a recent show in Poland. The show is full of stilt walkers, contortionists, aerial artists, light shows, and features enormous paint cannons ready to leave audience members dripping. Some of the DJS featured in the Dayglow tour have included Laidback Luke, Rodger Sanchez, Robbie Rivera, Diplo, Funkagenda, A-Track, Joachim Garraud, Feed Me, Porter Robinson, Alex Gaudino, Funkerman, Starkillers, Austin Leeds, Oscar G, Electrixx, Static Revenger, David Berrie, The Devil From Acapulco, and resident DAYGLOW DJ David Solano. (This does not mean they will be at the show in Louisville. This is just a sampling of the DJ's who have been involved).
Their merchandise touts sayings like "Music is my drug"; The paint sprayed on everyone is called BLU paint, which stands for "Beats. Love. Unity." The event has an overall positive vibe and looks like a chance to dance surrounded by a world you can't usually find.
Despite having a large college following, the 18+ show is geared towards anyone who wants to have fun. Glow sticks are not allowed, but Samson says people are encouraged to wear white, costumes, neon and glow in the dark outfits.
"It will be one "hell of a party".
The event will be at Broadbent Arena, and tickets are on sale now at Ticket Master. Prices range from $38.70 for general admission (including fees) or $72 (including fees) for VIP which includes Express Entry, DAYGLOW T-Shirt, DAYGLOW Paint Bottle, DAYGLOW CD, DAYGLOW Sunglasses, DAYGLOW Towel, DAYGLOW Back Pack, and a DAYGLOW Bracelet.
