There are so many Derby events going on, that it's often difficult to keep up with what's happening where.
If you're in West Louisville, or you're looking to add some diversity to your Derby celebrations, here are a couple of fun events going on west of 9th street.
Screaming Eagles Derby Drag Race & Block Party
Saturday May 5th & Sunday May 7th
This annual, family-friendly Derby celebration occurs on 28th street from Garland avenue to Greenwood avenue. The outdoor event features street vending, deep-fried food fare of all sorts, barbeque and music. Expect to see lots of motorcycles, and maybe even a race!
Also, keep in mind that this free event is a block party, and those streets will not be open for parking or driving.

A self proclaimed party with "entertainment for grown folks," is going down at the Nia Center, located at 30th and Broadway this weekend. The event, which is $25 dollars at the door on Saturday and $20 at the door on Sunday, will feature live music from The Unlimited and several other old-school R&B bands, Hors d'ourves and drink specials.
