Couture fashion, animal-loving celebrities, and adorably bedazzled canines will unite for the Runway & Rescue gala at the Henry Clay this Saturday evening. The proceeds of this fundraiser will help the Shelby County Humane Society, a no-kill shelter since 1978, work toward their $1million donation goal to build a state-of-the-art animal sanctuary. For only $100 per seat, you can help them complete phase 2 of a 3 part plan to provide the animals of Shelby County with a safe and loving home.
Now let’s talk fashion and celebrities
Carson Kressley, arguably the most fabulous of the stylish man-clan on Bravo’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, will emcee the event. Project Runway winner, designer Christian Siriano will be present to showcase his latest Spring/Summer sports and evening wear lines. Real Housewives of New Jersey star and equestrian Annika Bruggeworth will be present in addition to NY Times bestselling author Gene Stone of ecrets of People Who Never Get Sick.
Glasscock Boutique of Louisville (153 Chenoweth Lane) will be outfitting the models during a New York-worthy runway event with pieces from Christian Siriano’s latest line (exclusively in Louisville at Glasscock). Christian’s fierce designs have earned him a wide celebrity following, including Rihanna, Heidi Klum, Victoria Beckham, and Lady GaGa. Glasscock will also provide gowns by Oscar de la Renta, Badgley Mischka, Catherine Regehr, and the new Miami line Victoria Lopez Castro.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour sponsored by the Shelbyville Horse Show that will include a silent auction for several generous (and fabulous) donations, such as a 4 day getaway to England, a week in St. Lucia, and dinner for 12 by Louisville’s premier catering company The Silver Spoon. At 8pm a sit down dinner will be held in the Grand Ballroom around a 60 foot runway where the real show will begin!
