    Bit to Do

    Corn Mazes Around Louisville
    Print this page

Before we jump all the way into a Halloween frenzy, can we take a few moments to enjoy the rest of autumn? Pick pumpkins, kick leaves, drink cider, have a bonfire and wrap up in blankets? Who’s with me? One autumn activity that is really picking up steam in this area is the corn maze. You can find them all over, and some are quite elaborate. Certain mazes are designed for all ages; others are probably too scary for little ones.  Here are several to try before autumn is done.

    Deere Farms Corn Maze

In Lanesville, this attraction combines 20 acres of corn mazes with a dizzying array of other activities. Deere Farms opens for the season on September 20 this year, and offers a professionally designed corn maze; the staff will set you up with one of two maze games. While at the farms, you can pick pumpkins, watch a pig race, take a hayride, pig out on pork chops, and lots more. Groupon currently has a deal for Deere Farms: $18 for admission for 4, or $42 for up to 10 people.

    Cornucopia Farm Corn Maze

The theme for the 2014 corn maze at Cornucopia is “Washington County Bicentennial.” The six-acre attraction includes opportunities for kids and adults to learn about agriculture – the lessons continue throughout the farm – and search for hidden surprises. You can also try a soybean maze, play on the giant slide, pick pumpkins and go to the petting farm. Cornucopia Farm is in Scottsburg, Indiana. Adult admission is $8, children 3-12 are $6.

    Crawford Pumpkin Farm Corn Maze

In Elizabethtown, Crawford Farm has you covered for corn mazes. The smaller Mouse Trap Riddle Maze requires you to explore every inch to find the clues to solve the riddle. The larger T.wister’s A-Maize-ing Adventure Maze includes an elaborate scavenger-hunt style activity. The season starts September 20, and you’ll also find hayrides, a barrel train ride. Pumpkins galore, of course. Prices vary, according to activities chosen. Groupon has a variety of deals available for Crawford Farm.

    Cobb’s Haunt Corn Maze

This is a scary maze, located off Echo Trail in Louisville. It is open certain hours in October (not including Halloween). Cobb’s Haunt is basically a haunted house in a corn maze – with no flashlights and no help. You’re on your own, buddy. $15 per person.
