The Louisville Zoo's World's Largest Halloween Party is nearing the end of its run with two weekends remaining to jump in on the fun. The zoo typically gears up for its festive Santa Safari event, winter hours and camps and other events as it nears the cooler months of the year.

Visitors to the Louisville Zoo can still attend the Halloween weekend fun now through October 30. Tickets are still available for purchase online or at the ticket windows on the nights of the Halloween parties. The remaining nights of Halloween at the zoo are October 23-25 and October 29-30. Be thrilling not chilling, cheery not eerie, merry not scary and see sweet storybook scenes at every turn. Trick or treating is for children ages 11 and under. See more information about ticket options, FAQs and details here.

This weekend, the Zoo has tons of interactive lineups awaiting its guests. On Friday, October 23 see the students from Western Middle School for the Arts singing songs from their production of Lion King Jr. They will be performing from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. near the Lion and Zebra exhibit. Also stop by Pumpkinville Valley for some free goodies and coupons courtesy of Moe's Southwest Grill. Throughout this weekend (10/23-10/25), many of the company sponsors will be present with giveaways and more. These include New Beginnings Family Services, Lead Safe, Gattiland, Great Clips and Delta Dental.

The zoo's winter hours (now through March 11) are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m (exit by 5 p.m.) The zoo's new winter prices resume on November 1 and go through February 29. Adults can enter for $9.95 and children enter for $6.95. If you bring a canned good to donate to Dare to Care Food Bank, you'll receive $1 discount off general admission.

Additionally, tickets are now on sale for the zoo's popular holiday event, Santa's Safari. This event takes place on the weekends of December 12-13 and December 19-20 at 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus with plenty of photo options, and they can meet Frosty the Snowman too. Delve into some seasonal refreshments, a jolly holiday craft, get peeks at animals up close at the special animal encounters, and join in on the sing-a-longs as well. Learn more about this special event here.

Winter camps are scheduled for December 21 and December 22. The camps range in ages and topic selections. Preschoolers and kindergartners will explore the wonders of winter. Kindergartners through third graders will explore the habitats of arctic hares and polar bears. Older students in grades 4-6 will explore life on ice. See more details about these camps and get registered online here. The Louisville Zoo also hosts programs for Curious Kids on the first Saturday of each month, and the two remaining for this year are Gobble Gobble on November 7 and Winter Animals on December 5.

The Louisville Zoo is located at 1100 Trevilian Way. Call 502-459-2181 with questions.
