It's even too hot for the elephants these days, but the Louisville Zoo has some upcoming events that are (please excuse the cheesiness of this next statement) pretty cool. This Friday, August 5, the zoo will feature their bi-monthly Zoovie Movie Night. Families can watch "Toy Story 3" amongst the wildlife on a gigantic inflatable screen starting at 6 p.m. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, pack a picnic or munch on the zoo's refreshments, and enjoy the free entertainment before and after the show presented by the Zoo Crew. Members are free, and after 5 p.m. admission for non-members is just $5. If you miss this week's film, stay tuned for "Rio" August 19th.

This weekend, August 6-7 from noon-4:00, the Louisville Zoo will also feature a "Myth Day" where your littles might find answers to the plethora of questions they have been asking you lately. The Zoo will help to answer common myths about animals: Do frogs cause warts? Are bats blind? Is it true elephants have great memories? Do they really like booze like in Water for Elephants? I'm hoping to find out why that gorilla looked me dead in eye, bent over and took a crap in his hand, then ate it. Was that some sort of message? If so, how can I perform the human equivalent when someone is getting on my nerves? Special guests Cosmo and Wanda from "The Fairly Odd Parents" will make appearances throughout the day.
