    Whether you call your Father, Dad, Papa, Dadda, mon Père, or Padre, it doesn’t matter because his day is approaching fast! (July 16th to be exact). Don’t have anything planned for your old-man for Father’s Day? Have no fear, your answer is here!

    Louisville Zoo has Free Admission for Dads!

    Thanks to the Ford Motor Company, Dads get to go to the Louisville Zoo for free with a regular admission! Iron Man will also be at the zoo honoring Super Hero Day. Coincidence? I think not, most dads are pretty super! You and your Dad can dress as your favorite super hero, suit up for an awesome day at the zoo, and get your picture taken with Iron Man.

    2. Father’s Day Brunch at 21C 

    If your father loves brunch then this is the best place to take him! “Beer, bourbon and bacon… what more could your old man want?” Proof is preparing for a special Father’s Day Brunch by debuting a special craft brew, chef Levon Wallace’s latest collaboration with Against the Grain Brewery, and new brunch cocktails, including the Bourbon Chuck & Mary with a house-made bacon garnish. 21C’s Father Day brunch is both Saturday 15 from 10am –1pm in the dining room and 3pm in the bar, and Sunday 16 from 10am – 2pm and until 3pm in the bar.

    3. Belle of Louisville Father’s day BBQ & Bourbon Lunch Cruise 

    This is the perfect package! The Belle of Louisville wants to honor your Papa by having a Father’s Day cruise from 1:30pm - 4:00pm. The cruise, with reservations, has a barbecue buffet and bourbon tasting. If you don’t want to eat at the buffet, you and your father can just sight-see only on the upper decks. Children ages 3 to 12 are $22 and adult and seniors are $37.

    4. Vinylfest at the Crown Plaza 

    Does your old-man like music? How about taking him to the last day of Vinylfest, a convention all about music. On the 16th there is going to be a dealers room selling vinyl records, posters, and other memorabilia. Vinylfest has many exhibits that include

    collections of unusual album covers, guitars, and an opportunity to star on a “bootleg” album cover! The event also has, a presentation by Mark Dunn: "Before the Needle Drops: Understanding the Process of Licensing Songs for Your Album", gospel brunch, a presentation by William Stout: "Bootlegs: Covering a Secret Recording Industry", a panel discussion: "Pressing Vinyl – From Tape to Turntables",  and a showing of 

    “It Might Get Loud”. Also this may be a best place to get your Dad a Father’s day gift as well!

    5. Churchill Downs 

    Churchill Downs is having a Father’s day themed Family Fun Day! The Family Fun Day is presented by Kroger and they will have games, crafts (like Father’s day cards), and Churchill Charlie may make an appearance. The event is mainly for parents with children who are 12 years and younger. Family Fun Day is a way for Churchill downs to celebrates the history and awesomeness of horse-racing. They are every Sunday from 11:30am - 4:00pm.
