Still going strong after the smashing success that was Best of Louisville (over 1,200 attendees and $57,000+ raised for the MS Society!), Louisville Magazine is throwing another party -- this one inspired by magazine’s newly biannual SWIG drinking guide.

SWIG will celebrate the many distilleries, breweries and wineries that make up Louisville’s huge alcohol and alcohol tourism industries. The Brown Hotel will provide a perfect period backdrop for the prohibition-themed tasting celebration on December 5 -- the 81st anniversary of the repeal of prohibition.

The event will have over 40 vendors, including several distillers from the Bourbon Trail, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Copper & Kings, Old 502 and Great Flood Brewery. Louisville favorites like Game, Hammerheads, Roux, Art Eatables, Loop 22 and Joy Luck will be on hand to make sure you don’t drink on an empty stomach.

Bourbon, wine, beer, brandy, cocktails and food tastings will be free with purchase of a ticket. Entertainment will be provided by Billy Goat Strut and the New Lou Swing Dance Association. While Roaring 20’s-style attire is not mandatory, it is encouraged.

Tickets to the event are on sale now

A portion of the proceeds will go to APRON, a local organization dedicated to offering temporary financial assistance to those who work in Louisville’s locally-owned establishments.
