The Grapes, Grains, & Soul Fest combines some of my favorite things and probably some of yours, too. Presented by Kismet Productions, this event is a fundraiser that benefits the Louisville Sierra Club Inner City Outings program. It will be held at Whitehall House & Gardens on September 23, 2010 from 7pm-10pm.
Inner City Outings helps introduce young people in urban settings to the outdoors and works in partnership with local community agencies and schools. For a $25 ticket, you can enjoy local bands performing acoustic music (the only one specifically listed is Butch Rice), visit tasting stations featuring food from local restaurants and caterers, sample wine and beer from local breweries, and enjoy the beautiful gardens of White Hall.
There will be informational and interactive booths in the dining area and gardens, plus you can purchase raffle tickets to win some great functional art. Local artists created custom beverage coolers, aka, "kegerators" from recycled refrigerators that were either donated or rescued from landfills.
